Funded by the National Lottery and working within the Design and Technology department at a progressive secondary school in Maidstone, Kent. The project was set up to explain to a group of students the entire creative process for a community artist, from securing the funding, to delivering the workshops, the group created their own community arts collaboration, ‘Daring Designers’ and took ownership of the piece. The design itself was a collaboration between the group and was based on artefacts from around the world and the project resulted in a formal opening ceremony for the panel which is situated in the school. Along with this rare experience, the group were also taught the skills of this traditional craft.
